birthday-palooza

Happy Birthday to my sweet baby girl...who will be the youngest for only a few more months. Sigh.

Don't get me wrong, I am pumped for this new little BOY to enter our life (yes, a boy...this might be part of my nostalgia here...just give me my moment okay?)...but every milestone that sweet little Hazey passes now, I think...it wont be the same with this next baby (again, give me my moment here, people....I know a Boy will be so much fun...just sayin, all I know are girls).

No cute little Summer rompers and pink jelly's I got on clearance at the GAP.  No teeny tiny pink bikinis and little bows...

only guns and and wrestling and hunting and dirt and worms.
I can get used to it. really. i can.

actually, I used to think all I wanted was a house full of boys...

ANYWAAAAY...this post is about Haze..as we affectionately call her these days.  She has been amazing these past few weeks...trying to say words, walking all over the place, and just pretty much being super cute.  She is still so content and smiles all the time.  I literally pray that her Joy would only be made COMPLETE with Jesus as her Lord and that her contentedness for life would give her peace and patience...she is a sweet little girl.

We had a low key little birthday party...made some desserts and called it a day.  It was 95 degrees, but I think everyone still enjoyed the cold beer, blowing fans and jimmy rigged sound system...all in Williams fashion.  My sweet friend Jami took these amazing pics...which, shameless plug, please hire her for your wedding, party, family portraits, whatever...just get her. she's good...she'll put you at ease...she'll take good pics-actually, you might pee your pants from laughing too much with her, so bring and extra change of clothes. Go here to check her out: twiceoverproductions

I love the one of Kory's Aunt holding Hazel (she's wiping off a spoon in the pic), because she just looked like she was enjoying the moment so much...and I didn't have the heart to tell her that she was  feeding my one year old the dessert that I had put coconut rum into the whipped cream....hmm....oh well.
(what's a birthday party without a couple of different dessert options, hmm? the "Kids" section and the "adults" section. Sounds good, doesn't it?)

It was good times...and made me think that we need to invite people over more often.  I am often subconscious about the "potential" that our house holds....you know, you just SEE that beautiful landscape and paved driveway and addition on the back...but it's just NOT there....well...I need to get over it and just enjoy the relationships and love that surround the house. Slap on the hand for me...and conviction for anyone else? anyone?? okay....well....let me know.
Happy Birthday to my little girl, just the same.

Louisiana Saturday Night

If you ever need a suggestion for a hot place to visit in the middle of the Summer...I can suggest one.
Baton rouge, Louisiana.
Also, let me just apologize now for the number of pics in this post. there were too many great memories not to share...
we recently got back from our first "big" trip....we stayed in hotels, we flew, we ate out every meal. big time for the William's family.

there were so many forced smiles in this picture it's not even funny.  I even had a talk with McLean...telling her things like "they will look at these the rest of their lives," and "please smile pretty." Oh well. A mother can only try.

We had a blast.

note McLean's face in this pic...we are waaaaay over taking pictures at this point.

The wedding was amazing...GREAT food and amazing company.
We were able to go a few days early and took our little fam to the WELL known beach town of Biloxi, MS....(what, you've never heard of it?!). It was actually perfect for what we needed, and the girls loved the beach.  I even wore my two piece...and I am obviously preggo at this point, people.

McLean rode on her first airplane and loved every second.  She got to meet the pilot  and she had no problem yelling commands to him from her seat (about the middle of the plane...).  She wanted to make sure he didn't go too fast because her whooooole family was on the plane.

Also, "don't open the window because she might fly out."
I'm sure that most everyone else on the plane was not as amused as her parents, but hey...oh well....i'll never see those people again, and we got video of it all to revisit for the rest of our years.
she was so excited that she was "on vacation" and got to pick any drink and snack that she wanted.
I was proud of her as she chose "chocolate milk" as her drink of choice....and I thought maybe the stewardess would hand us some pretzels or something.

but it all went downhill when she didn't have chocolate milk OR pretzels....so, at 9am McLean was enjoying root beer and a $3 package of animal crackers.

Sheesh.  the rest of the weekend went pretty much the same way as we ate our way through Louisiana and had a great time doing so.
Mclean's favorite thing is now vacation...mostly because she knows life goes her way...and things are crazy like "night swims" and "cookies for breakfast."  She quickly adopted the phrase, "Mommy, since we're on vacation....do you thinnnnnk I coulllllld.....(fill in the blank)."
And i usually said yes.

Overall, twas a great trip...very fun to get away and just be with my three favorite people.
